Citrix XenDesktop 7 Beta Exam Preparation Guides

Note: The Citrix XenDesktop 7 Solutions exam preparation guides for the live exams can be found on this newer post on Citrixxperience.com.

As most everyone knows by now, three new XenDesktop 7 beta exams are open to a limited test-taking audience. The three XD7 exams are: 1Y1-200 Managing Citrix XenDesktop 7 Solutions, 1Y1-300 Deploying Citrix XenDesktop 7 Solutions, and 1Y1-400 Designing Citrix XenDesktop 7 Solutions.

Registration for the XenDesktop 7 beta exams is already closed and the last day of beta testing is August 6, 2013.

Along with the release of the XD7 beta exams, Citrix Education also released an exam preparation guide for each. As of now, these guides are the only guidelines by which a test-taker can study for the XD7 exams, so they are a great resource worth a look even if you're not planning on taking any of the XD7 exams until they are officially released.

Below are external links to each preparation guide on Citrix Education's site. I've also mirrored each prep guide on Citrixxperience.

Do you have any suggestions on additional study material? Everything listed in the prep guides are not in the online documentations..

Hi Jamie, that’s a good question. I’m planning on posting several blog posts, articles, and videos that I’ve read and watched that focus on XD 7, hopefully by early next week. Also, I always start at Citrix eDocs, which you may already be using, but here is the URL for eDocs XD 7: http://support.citrix.com/proddocs/topic/xendesktop/cds-xd-7landing-page.html

I’ll be releasing more information later and we are already hard at work on the XD 7 practice exams.

      Thanks for the question.

Thanks..I meant to say not everything in the prep guides. But I will be on the look out for future guides. Keep up the great work. Love the site.

I’m glad you find the site useful and thanks for the kind words. I look forward to getting more information rounded up for the XenDesktop 7 exams as soon as possible and of course, continuing to put out quality and cheat-free products. Comments like yours are very motivational. Thanks much!

    Hi Jeff,

Great work on the site and thanks for sharing the info on XenDesktop 7.

I’m currently unemployed and would like to get myself CCA-AD certified when the v7 test comes out, but the $5000 classroom training is way out of my budget. Can you make any recommendations for alternative sources – free or otherwise, as I do have a small budget – that I can use to prep for the test? I’ve already started looking at the eDocs link you posted above…..

    Thanks in advance, Andrew.

    Hello.

I would like to take the new citrix exam 1Y0-200, but I don’t know what to study, is there a guide or a book?
Also what is the cost for sitting for this exam?

Does your site offer the guide or the practice tests?

    thanks,

    • Jeff Rohrer

I will have a practice exam online very soon. It’s in the final stages of editing and being reviewed by Citrix Education.

For now, use the 1Y0-200 Exam Preparation Guide found on Citrix Education’s website and start with a web search for ‘XenDesktop 7 best practices’ and you’ll find many helpful resources.

      Thanks,
      Jeff
