1Y0-A28 Citrix Exam to be Discontinued

For the A28 replacement practice exam, browse to Citrix Education CPE-350 Citrix NetScaler 10 Essentials and Networking practice exam or real exam.

I was just browsing the Discontinuation and Expiration Announcements on Citrix Education's website and noticed that the 1Y0-A28 Implementing NetScaler 10 for Networking and Traffic Optimization will be discontinued on April 1, 2014.

The 1Y0-A28 had a short "shelf life," just being introduced around one year ago. I haven't talked to any sources about it at Citrix yet, but I'm sure it's being discontinued because of the new networking Citrix certifications: CCA-N (Citrix Certified Associate - Networking) and CCP-N (Citrix Certified Professional - Networking). A test taker must pass the 1Y0-250 Implementing Citrix NetScaler 10 for App and Desktop Solutions and the the 1Y0-350 Citrix NetScaler 10 Essentials and Networking , respectively, to receive the new Networking credentials.

There is also an unnamed 1Y0-450 Networking exam coming out, which, if passed, will award a test taker with the CCE-N (Citrix Certified Expert - Networking) certification.

Until the 1Y0-A28 has been discontinued, you can still take it and it will remain valid as a CCA NetScaler 10 certification for the length of product relativity (probably 2 or 3 years, but that's not verified by anyone at Citrix, just my own opinion).

If you wish to acquire a CCA for NetScaler 10 certification you should be thinking seriously about preparing for it now because April 1, 2014 will come quickly.

Of course, when you feel ready to take Citrix's 1Y0-A28 exam you may wish to use Citrixxperience.com's 1Y0-A28 practice exam (now Citrix Education's CPE-350 practice exam) make sure you're comfortable with NetScaler 10 before taking Citrix's exam.
