There are 92 questions in the 1Y0-A08 practice exam, covering all of the topics of the Citrix 1Y0-A08 Exam Prep Guide.
Citrix Education lists 33 Citrix Knowledge Base articles that you need to know for the exam and I used every single one to help create the practice exam. I also linked to each one after the explanation so that you can look up the information yourself to make sure that I got it right and to give you a more expanded understanding of the subject that the question is about.
I also regularly used the Citrix eDocs site and linked to each page in it that I used as reference material. Citrix eDocs has replaced the Administrator Guides that they used to release with each new Citrix product. In my opinion, eDocs makes it so much more uniform and organized. It definitely makes my job easier when creating Citrix practice exam questions and answers.
Basically, if there isn't a Knowledge Base Article listed in the Exam Prep Guide about a topic or sub-topic, I use the search feature on eDocs and find the exact information that I'm looking for within seconds.
With the old Admin Guides it was much more of a hassle. Searching through several different guides, not to mention the official courseware, to try to find a keyword or keyphrase for a topic that I was trying to create a question for could take up to an hour or more in some cases. No wonder it took me a couple of months or more to release practice exams.
I'm excited about my "new way" of creating practice exams because I should be able to release them in a week or two with regularity. For example, I just finished about 50% of the 1Y0-A18 Basic Administration for XenApp 6 practice exam over the weekend. What a huge contrast from the "old days".
Back to the 1Y0-A08 practice exam. Although it consists of 92 questions right now, I will be creating a few more, probably over the next week. Of course, anyone with a premium membership will always get free updates to all of the new versions of all of the practice exams.
There is also a free 1Y0-A08 study guide, available on the Free Exam Prep page of CX. As of today, March 20, 2011, it is not quite complete and it has not been formatted. Nevertheless, there is lots of valuable and free information available in there. I'll add to it within a day or two and format it some time after that.
