Citrix CCA requirements and recommendations

Since Citrix has discontinued the 3.0 and earlier exams, I thought I’d write a few informational posts about the requirements and recommendations for obtaining the CCA (Citrix Certified Administrator), CCEA (Citrix Certified Enterprise Administrator), and CCIA (Citrix Certified Integration Architect) certifications as they stand right now. I’ve taken this information from a few different pages on Citrix’s web site and combined it so you don’t have to scramble around for it.

In this post I’ll start with the CCA. There are three official CCA 4 tracks: CCA for Citrix Presentation Server 4, CCA for Citrix Password Manager 4, and CCA for Citrix Access Gateway 4. Requirements and recommendations for each follow.

Citrix CCA Requirements

CCA for Citrix Presentation Server 4
1. To obtain the CCA for Citrix Presentation Server 4, the candidate must first take the following eLearning course and pass the assessment given at the end: 

CTX-1455BW Citrix Common Management Platform 4.5: Administration
Alternate: CTX-1455AW Citrix Access Suite 4.0: Common Management Platform Administration

2. After passing the eLearning course assessment, the candidate must pass the following exam:

1Y0-256 Citrix Presentation Server 4.0: Administration
Alternate: 1Y0-259 Citrix Presentation Server 4.5: Administration (not released yet)

CCA for Citrix Password Manager 4
1. To obtain the CCA for Citrix Password Manager 4, the candidate must first take the following eLearning course and pass the assessment given at the end:

CTX-1455BW Citrix Common Management Platform 4.5: Administration
Alternate: CTX-1455AW Citrix Access Suite 4.0: Common Management Platform Administration

2. After passing the eLearning course assessment, the candidate must pass the following exam:

1Y0-326 Citrix Password Manager 4.0: Administration
Alternate: 1Y0-327 Citrix Password Manager 4.5: Administration (not released yet)

CCA for Citrix Access Gateway 4
1. To obtain the CCA for Citrix Access Gateway 4, the candidate must first take the following eLearning courses and pass the assessments given at the end:

CTX-1307BW Citrix Access Gateway 4.5: Administration
Alternate: CTX-1307AW Citrix Access Gateway 4.1: Administration

and

CTX-1455BW Citrix Common Management Platform 4.5: Administration
Alternate: CTX-1455AW Citrix Access Suite 4.0: Common Management Platform Administration

2. After passing the eLearning course assessments, the candidate must pass the following exam:

1Y0-308 Citrix Access Gateway 4.5 Advanced Edition: Administration
Alternate: 1Y0-306 Citrix Access Gateway 4.2 with Advanced Access Control: Administration

Citrix CCA Training Recommendations

The following eLearning and instructor led courses are recommended by Citrix. The eLearning courses are noted by an AW or BW. The instructor-led courses are noted by an AI or BI.
